About Jean Moore
As a passionate advocate of involving citizens in their government, Jean has served in leadership positions for every Gladstone community initiative for over 15 years.
As a result of these efforts, the construction of the Gladstone Community Center and Natatorium became a reality—the first building block for the creation of a downtown for the City of Gladstone. She co-chaired the City’s national competition to be designated an All-America City in 2008. In 2010, she co-chaired a successful Public Safety Sales Tax Campaign that made possible the hiring of new public safety officers and the purchase of a new communications system for the Department.
She has served on the City Council since 2011, and has had the honor of being Mayor four times. This year, she raised $29,000 for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree—benefitting Feed Northland Kids and
Gladstone Neighbors Helping Neighbors.
Jean is a devoted community volunteer. She helped establish Gladstone’s beautification effort called the Glad Green Team and volunteers monthly for community clean-ups. She is currently President of the Board of Directors for Feed Northland Kids, and helps manage a monthly food distribution effort for that organization. She is proud to have been a Youth Friend in the North Kansas City School District for over 25 years.
Jean and her husband have called Gladstone home for nearly 50 years. She has owned a market research consulting business in the City since 1992.
